Each year, we award approximately NOK 600,000 in research funding. The funding comes from returns on funds established to support research and research communication.

Scientific awards for early-career researchers under the age of 35, funded by the I. K. Lykke Fund:

Two awards, each worth NOK 75,000 (subject to investment returns), are presented in the humanities and the natural sciences, respectively. Nominations are welcome from all academic communities. The nomination deadline is 1 November each year. This was the first scientific award received by Nobel laureates Edvard Moser and May-Britt Moser, back in 1999. Research grants for students and early-career researchers under the age of 30 in Trøndelag:

Subject to investment returns, approximately NOK 150,000 is distributed among several recipients. Applicants must be studying or conducting research at master’s level or above. The application deadline is around 1 April.

Research funding from the DKNVS Foundation’s Research Fund:

Subject to investment returns, approximately NOK 300,000 is distributed among up to five recipients. Funding is not provided for master’s theses. The application deadline is around 1 April. See the 2022 grant recipients here.
