Aims and Scope.
Transactions of The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters is a multidisciplinary journal, covering subjects from sciences in broad sense to mathematics, technology, social sciences, theology, philosophy, history, literature, linguistics, and arts. Publication is irregular and each issue usually contains a single article. Original as well as review works with empirical or theoretical emphasis are accepted, and the size may vary from ordinary journal articles to theses, seminar-/symposium reports etc. However, acceptance of large manuscripts and those containing colour prints may be conditional on financial contribution from the author. Transactions are indexed/abstracted in relevant international data bases for scientific publications.
Manuscripts.
All submissions will be subject to the normal process of peer review. Manuscripts should preferably be written in English, but German and French will be accepted as well as Scandinavian languages when these come naturally from the subject. However, all manuscripts must have an English summary. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, as e-mail attachment, preferably as word-files. Manuscripts should be submitted as camera-ready as possible. A covering latter must contain a statement that the manuscript has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere, and that co-authors give their consent to publication.
Preparation of Manuscripts.
Pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. The submitted manuscript must contain author(s) mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address. 'Corresponding author' must be indicated. References are indicated in the text by the name and date system, e.g. 'Arthur & Berthur (2002)' or (Arthur & Berthur, 2002)'. If a cited work has more than two authors, cite the reference as 'Arthur et al.'. In the reference list however, the names of all authors should be given. When citing more than one reference at a time, list them in alphabetical order. The reference list should be written in alphabetical, alternatively in numbered order. Format for the literature list should be as in the following examples:

Offprints. Twenty five offprints are supplied free of charge for single-authored articles. When two or more authors, each receives 15 offprints. Additional offprints must be ordered beforehand and paid by author(s).
